Some excerpts :
Kyle Bormann, who fired the sniper’s shot that killed Brittany Williams, was sentenced this morning to 80 years to life in prison.
.............
Douglas County District Judge Gerald Moran sentenced Bormann, 20, for the Jan. 20 shooting of 21-year-old Williams as she sat in the drive-through lane of the KFC/Long John Silver’s restaurant at 7001 N. 30th St.
................
................
From 110 yards away, Bormann took aim through a high-powered scope and hit Williams, a woman he had never met, in the head.
.............
Prosecutors originally filed for the death penalty — saying he chose Williams because she was black.
................
The jury’s verdict eliminated any possibility of the death penalty being imposed. Bormann drunkenly told police that he shot Williams because “I imagine I was pissed off at black people” over a referee’s call in an NFL playoff game.
