Are the British and the Basques Armenians ? .. as the "Anglo-Saxon Chronicles" of King Alfred say - Some scientists say "maybe"
Absurd and Amazing !
This may be false, I am extremely skeptic of everything. - I do not believe in UFOs ( Unidentified Flying Objects ) and I do not believe in conspiracies.
I do not believe this, but it is extremely super interesting because of the strong ancient British and Basque Myths of an Armenian Origin, and some strange genetic matches, name matches and linguistic matches. Why Ancient Britons and Ancient Basques were so misguided as to be sure of being the grandsons of Armenians ??, and even descendants of Noah and his Big Ark ??
Where did the British come from? - Armenia ??
Some excerpts :
So the question comes where Basques originated from? The Basques are unique ethnic group, that inhabit parts of northwestern Spain and southwestern France. There have been several hypothesis regarding origin of those people. But lets refer to the founders of Basque national historiography Esteban de Garibay, Andres de Posa and Baltasar de Echave.
All of them considered Armenia as homeland of basques. Esteban de Garibay thought that Iberia was populated by descendants of Tubal, Noah's grandson, who went to Iberia thirty-five years after the Flood subsided.
Garibay observed that Basque place-names bore a resemblance to those in ARMENIA ( http://www. gipuzkoakultura. net/ediciones/versus/estevez-es. htm ).
Baltasar de Echave writes: "the first settlers arrived to Iberia after the Universal deluge with the children of Noah from "ours loved mother country ARMENIA" (http://www. ingeba. euskalnet. net/lurralde/lurranet/lur22/ore22/22ore. htm ).
Interestingly legendary ancestor of the Basques had a name Aitor, which in Armenian means Grandson of Armenian. The Armenian origin of Basques was strongly supported by several prominent researchers, such as Gaspar Eskolano, Edward Spencer Johnson, Joseph Karst, Bernardo Estornes Lasa, Nikolay Marr.
In conclusion, there was a genetic study done in different regions of Armenia, that detected that the characteristic genetic code prevalent in Welsh, Basques and Irish, called the Atlantic Modal Haplotype, is also present in Armenian population of Syunik and Karabakh. These are two Armenian provinces predominantly isolated in the mountains, which precluded genetic admixture with neighboring ethnic groups and nations.

Going back to the Anglo-Saxon Chronicles, may be that anonymous writer have been right and Britons in fact originated either directly from Armenia or indirectly trough Basque Country.

this theory is a lot cooler and more interesting than the boring paleolithic theory. being of typical british lineage myself, and incidentally through stephen oppenheimers new theories, I am likely basque historically, i would much prefer the idea that my people originated in the middle east caucuses somewhere, rather than they were some hideous, cro-magnon, neanderthals lol.
ReplyDeletefascinating
ReplyDeleteWhy does the idea of having Armenian ancestory seem absurd??
ReplyDeleteThe Anglo-Saxon Chronicals has 6 sections, and each one the author clearly states Armenian. How could such a mistake be made??? It was not a mistake.
The tribes from caucuses including Armenian & Scythians were indeed very curious people and travelled extensivlly. There is even connection between Irish & Armenians as written by Elizabeth Redgate. Key words like water , soul, ect have not changed. That is why even today the Basque say JUR for water as do Armenians.
Interesting, my paternal grandmother was Armenian and always claimed that the Irish were of Armenian descent. I am also half Welsh; I guess this makes me 3/4 Armenian. Question; Armenian food is so good and Welsh food not so much so what happened there?
ReplyDeleteHAHAH, that is hilarious man, I'm Armenian my self and I'll tell what i know about this. Celts are thought to have originated in eastern europe, very close to ancient Armenian Highland, Armenian and Celtic DNA matches ALOT, a connection is very clear, and some scientists say we were the same people from the beggining, and there is alot of similarity in our culture, architecture, dance, music and even attitude, we are both highlanders. English are more a germanic tribe, evovling in the Anglo tribe in northern Germany. But a mix with ancient Armenians is very very likely, And Welsh guy, If you like we could get in contact and i could tell you more about your real identity ;)
DeleteI live in Holly Armenia, I am Armenian and I am proud of it
ReplyDeleteI have to cite famous words " If GOD can speak, he will speak Armenian"
I wouldn't be surpried to be honest. In addition whatever has been posted already I would like to mention KARAHUNJ also which is about 7000 years old in Britain they have STONEHENGE which is younger than KARAHUNJ. By the way KAR=stone in armenian and HUNJ is an actual word in armenian unlike henge which doesn't mean anything in english, I mean I have tried to find out if it has any meaning in english, so far nothing.
ReplyDeleteon the contrary, it doesn't mean anything in Armenian.
