In this, the not quite post-racial era of Obama, scholars are developing new understandings of the connection between race, life experience and decisions. Researchers such as Scott Page and James Surowiecki are telling us that varied life experiences and ethnicity can improve the result when a group makes decisions together.
At the University of Michigan, Page uses mathematical models to show not only that people's backgrounds make a difference in how they think, but far more importantly, that these differences are essential for good collective decision-making.
As Page acknowledges, the relationship between life experience and decision-making is an empirical question -- a question of fact to be determined based on research. In some domains -- making decisions about the scope of anti-discrimination law or deciding on a health care policy -- we likely will see that broader life experience makes for better decisions.
Surowiecki, who wrote "The Wisdom of Crowds," points out that a group will more often than not come to a better decision than the average individual, so long as the group includes a range of people with different life experiences and ways of looking at and solving problems.
As Surowiecki notes, if the group has enough variation in the information that they bring to the table, their thought processes and their approach to solving problems, the group is more likely to come up with the right answer before an individual, even in some instances when the individual is an expert.
The Constitution itself recognizes the importance of life experiences to legal decision-making. Defendants in the criminal process are entitled to a jury of their peers precisely because jurors bring to the process a collection of life experiences that will shape their understanding of the facts and the law.
All-white juries are problematic in large part because we believe that the life experiences of jurors are an integral part of their collective judgment of innocence or guilt.

What makes this case so interesting – and alarming – is the vitriolic public commentary that ensued. Early newspaper and on-line accounts helped seed confusion, varying wildly: some gave the impression that Gates was trying to break into a house not his own, some that he refused to identify himself or that he resisted arrest. None of that was true.
But the larger backlash has quickly moved from the individual incident itself to condemnations in the stereotyped plural, concentrating on a very tight set of recurring themes: Gates is "uppity", arrogant, pseudo-educated. He should have been grateful that the police came to his house at all. Harvard was stupid for hiring him. African-American studies, the department Gates chairs, is a non-subject, only on the curriculum to keep black students from rioting. The Ivy League is run by politically correct "wusses" who don't have the courage to get rid of "undeserving" "whiners". Who could blame police officers for refusing to come to black homes or neighbourhoods if this is what they get? "Those people" have jobs a "more qualified" white person should be holding.
(Where, oh where, our fleeting "post-racial" moment of Kumbaya?)
I mentioned that timing was also a probable factor in this brouhaha. The entire week before Gates's arrest was consumed with reports of the congressional hearings for Obama's Supreme Court nominee, Judge Sonia Sotomayor. She would be the first Hispanic and only the third woman sitting in our highest court. Hence, racial resentment had already been simmering on the shock-jock media burners. Three ultra-conservative senators in particular grilled her, day after day, using some of the most prejudiced, stereotype-laden language we've heard publicly in many a year. Despite the fact that Sotomayor graduated at the top of her class from Princeton and Yale Law School, she has been attacked as not qualified, chosen not for merit but because she's a woman or Latina. Pundits such as Pat Buchanan railed that "affirmative action is to increase diversity by discriminating against white males". Furthermore, said Buchanan, there could be nothing wrong with a court of all white men, because, after all "white men were 100% of the people who wrote the constitution, 100% of the people who signed the Declaration of Independence, 100% of the people who died at Gettysburg and Vicksburg…"

In short, the Sotomayor hearing and the New Haven firefighters case have reignited the general American debate about affirmative action. So when the extremely distinguished Harvard university professor Henry Louis Gates was carted off in handcuffs, allegedly calling out: "This is what happens to black men in America!", there was a distinct shimmer of schadenfreude in some parts of the national psyche. The reactionary themes that had been percolating during the last few weeks came bursting to the fore: minorities are taking over! Obama is only appointing non-whites! White people are the truly oppressed! People of colour, particularly ones who went to Harvard, Yale or Princeton, are reverse racists.
The arrest itself is hardly the best example of either racial profiling or police-state oppression. But the discourse that has welled up in its wake reveals a public inclination that is marred by that and more.

The ANTI Immigration Reform Groups are advocating the BLEACHING OF AMERICA. The truth is they are advocating legislation which would vastly reduce the number of non-whites in America and restrict future Immigration to allow primarily educated northern Europeans to enter.
Consider the agenda of the ANTI Immigration Reformers:
1. Mass Deportation of the 12M here: A Wall on the Southern Border, enforcement of current broken immigration laws, ICE Raids promoted to ensure the 12M here are deported.
2. Official English: Although Congress ruled English as the National Language, extremists advocate Official English laws thereby permitting the printing of all government documents, particularly voting documents, in English only. This includes stopping any government agency from providing Translators. Some local/state legislation has produced restrictions on Spanish in the workplace, even between co-workers.
3. Change the 14th Ammendment: Change Birthright citizenship laws to citizenship based on parental status. (Jus Soli vs Jus Sanguine)
4. Reduced/Regulated Future Immigration: Many ANTI Immigration Reform websites advocate regulating future immigration to only educated Northern Europeans.
When I have studied these groups' websites they also oppose our President, Barack Obama, often promoting conspiracy theories about his birth certificate. Lou Dobbs, Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh, strong Anti Immigration Reform zealots are also strong opponents of the President, wishing for him to FAIL.
They also oppose the candidacy of the honorable Judge Sotomayor for Supreme Court Justice. They also demonize reputable Latino Humanitarian organizations including NCLR (who they negatively refer to as "La Raza"), MALDEF, PRLDEF.
If you also consider the fact they are opposed to Immigration from the Middle East, Africa and those they term "3rd World Countries", ALL COUNTRIES OF COLOR, you begin to understand their overall motivation. Many of their closet members are members of Hate Groups, including the KKK, Stormfront, NSMs, White Nationalists, Skinheads and more.
When you study all of these issues and their perspectives, it is clear. The majority of ANTI Immigration Reformers are advocating "The Bleaching of America!"

I am a guy that loves ART, but that is secondary in my heart to the love for Numbers, Statistics, Demography, Polls, Elections, Demoscopy ..... So to watch Racists saying counter Economic things makes me throw up.... These people are blind with Hate .....

The right-wing media have crafted an absurd -- and dangerous -- political narrative of white male oppression, exclusion and victimization. Tools
The assertion that white men are an oppressed class in America is a given and working assumption for Buchanan -- an assumption and premise that goes largely unchallenged by the mainstream media.
Limbaugh also works diligently and steadily to advance the narrative of Jim Crow 2.0. On an almost-daily basis he conflates political partisanship with the systematic racism historically experienced by black Americans. For him, Obama is a reverse racist, who like "the other minorities" has learned "how to use anger" against white people as a weapon to advance his political career.

Frank Ricci, the "leader" of the New Haven 20 has been valorized. In the version of events offered by Hannity, Ricci, a dyslexic, studied day and night with the assistance of tutors in order to pass the exam for promotion only to see his hard-earned opportunity denied him by a lawsuit filed by the city of New Haven on behalf of a group of "unqualified" African American firefighters. For Jim Crow 2.0, Ricci is Rosa Parks, and the upcoming Supreme Court hearing of his case will be the equivalent of Brown v. Board of Education.
Who Bears Responsibility?
The ability of the right to mine white racial resentment as the fuel for Jim Crow 2.0 is not surprising given the long relationship between white racial resentment and identity politics in American society. In keeping with this precedent, the ability and willingness of the right to quite literally play with history as it rewrites the civil rights movement, an event of radical energy and liberal aspirations, for the purposes of racially conservative and reactionary politics is also to be expected.
However, what is surprising is the preponderance of silence by African American pundits, critics and public intellectuals in combating Jim Crow 2.0. While it embodies a set of political values that are seen as increasingly marginal in American politics, the ability of Jim Crow 2.0 to gain traction, and to persist for as long as it has, signals a divide of experience, memory and values that may be deeper than previously imagined.
Could a failure to critically engage Jim Crow 2.0 be a result of an inability and unwillingness on the part of Americans to think critically about the relationship between racism, history and inequality? Likewise, does Jim Crow 2.0 resonate with its audience because Americans (white, black and brown alike) are afraid to ask if white privilege is in any way unsettled or challenged by the election of Barack Obama as president of the United States? Most importantly, how does this narrative of white male oppression and victimhood complicate the continued struggle for full racial equality and justice in the Age of Obama?
Ultimately, Jim Crow 2.0 will continue to have life to the degree that these questions remain unasked and unanswered.

Forde’s swift evolution from beauty-school protester to aspiring militia leader startled her half-brother. Long before she was accused of robbing and murdering a Mexican man and his 9-year-old daughter in the Arizona desert, exposing the modern American Minuteman movement to accusations of racial warfare; and long before she told her followers that, as a white woman, she saw brown-skinned immigrants as filthy, lowly lawbreakers, Shawna Forde was climbing into a car in Seattle to allegedly have illegal sex with a man named Rodriguez.
Then known as Shawna Breitgham, the 17-year-old future border vigilante had worked the city's strolls for at least two years, long enough to know that if a customer introduces himself by groping you, he's probably not a cop (undercover officers are generally bound by no-touch rules). So on that October evening in 1985, after getting into a car on Pike Street and riding to an unlit spot, the shapely blonde teen prostitute picked up the driver's hand and rubbed it against her breasts. Then she reached over and fondled his crotch.
After agreeing to a $50 blow job, a reassured Shawna said: "Take off your pants." She began undoing the driver's fly.

Long before she was accused of robbing and murdering a Mexican man and his 9-year-old daughter in the Arizona desert, exposing the modern American Minuteman movement to accusations of racial warfare; and long before she told her followers that, as a white woman, she saw brown-skinned immigrants as filthy, lowly lawbreakers, Shawna Forde was climbing into a car in Seattle to allegedly have illegal sex with a man named Rodriguez.
Then known as Shawna Breitgham, the 17-year-old future border vigilante had worked the city's strolls for at least two years, long enough to know that if a customer introduces himself by groping you, he's probably not a cop (undercover officers are generally bound by no-touch rules). So on that October evening in 1985, after getting into a car on Pike Street and riding to an unlit spot, the shapely blonde teen prostitute picked up the driver's hand and rubbed it against her breasts. Then she reached over and fondled his crotch.
After agreeing to a $50 blow job, a reassured Shawna said: "Take off your pants." She began undoing the driver's fly.

New York Democrat Sen. Chuck Schumer says he will offer a comprehensive immigration bill by Labor Day. But don't look there. Look at the administration's ongoing program to confront employers of illegal immigrants in a low-key way.
So far this year, the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency has audited the hiring records of over 650 companies suspected of using illegal labor and moved against the offenders. Example: ICE told American Apparel in Los Angeles that 1,800 of its 5,600 factory workers appeared to be unauthorized. The company was fined $150,000 and told to fire employees who, on further inspection, were not supposed to be there.

The Bush administration tended toward cinematic raids on factory floors and big military shows at the border. Illegal immigrants were hauled off in handcuffs and slapped with criminal charges. Children were separated from parents.

Whatever. Enforcement is now being done through lawyerly conversations with executives. Not much to film here. Businesses found to be guilty of hiring illegal workers are fined and warned. If they keep doing it, the punishments grow harsher.

That's exactly the Obama approach. Anyone who doubts its effectiveness should note the discomfort among open-borders interests. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has sued to stop the expansion of E-Verify.

And so by the time Schumer unveils his program, the larger public will already have reason to trust that the next amnesty would be the last. Schumer has gone further in that regard. He has proposed a tighter verification system using unique biometric markers, such as fingerprints or the iris of eyes. And he has come out and said that America lacks engineers, not low-skilled laborers.
Imagine that, an immigration overhaul that promises real enforcement, protects our most vulnerable workers and recognizes America's true labor needs. And we're getting there without the dramatics. Boy, are these guys smart.

You are uncovering and revealing the infighting and rush for power ( of what is left ) of the Minutemen Racist Organization, the ruckus, riot and outbreak of insider passions. You uncover how much they hate each other inside the Minutemen.
How to fight the Entamoeba Asceti and the Entamoeba Coli, the worst amoebas that produce intestinal amibiasis :
1) You drink a liter of the worst quality Moonshine Rum
2) Then you eat 5 big spoonfuls of sand.
Why does it kill the Amoebas ??
Because they got drunk with the bad quality Moonshine.
Then they start a row and fight, and they throw stones ( the sand ) and kill themselves....

And that McCain, Palin et al had a strategy of persuading People that Obama was impossible as president because of Racism. So voting for Obama or the Democrats was a waste of Time.
Some Friends ask that we blog relentlessly against all these Bastard Racists of TV Networks, and Newspapers that hide the Depredations of the Minutemen, like killing children and threatening Kindergardens.
If a drunken Mexican hits someone with a car that appears for many days in triple AAA TV schedule. But if some Racist Coward Bastards kill children and threaten kindergardens, then that is not newsworthy.
The Racists in many blogs, perhaps all blogs, including this one of yours and mine, constantly write that World Opinion doesn't matter or that Africa or Latin America does not matter, or that Europe and Asia are Garbage and do not matter.

Deacons for Defense (2003) - Wonderful Historic Movie - In Bogalusa, Louisiana, Blacks have to unite and arm against the Ku Klux Klan
This is a Famous movie about the "Deacons for Defense" - This things really happened. The Movie is wonderful and inspirational.

The Deacons for Defense and Justice were an armed self defense African American civil rights organization in the U.S. Southern states during the 1960s.The organization practiced self-defense methods in the face of racist oppression that was carried out by Jim Crow Laws; local and state agencies; and the Ku Klux Klan. Many times the Deacons are not written about or cited when speaking of the Civil Rights Movement because their agenda of self-defense, in this case, using violence (if necessary) did not fit the image of strict non-violence agenda that leaders like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. preached about the Civil Rights Movement.
Yet, there has been a recent debate over the crucial role the Deacons and other lesser known militant organizations played on local levels throughout much of the rural South. Many times in these areas the Federal government did not always have complete control over to enforce such laws like the Civil Rights Act of 1964 or Voting Rights Act of 1965.
The interesting thing is that in the Movie the Ku Klux Klan is losing the support of White Rich Businesmen ... Why ???
Because Blacks are consumers and labor and the Rich White needed the Blacks to make more money and improve their Fortunes.
The Rich Whites were first to quit the Ku Klux Klan and the poor Whites stayed. The movie shows the gatherings and meetings of the KKK and their discussions.
In 1964 and 1965, Lyndon Baines Johnson signed important legislation abolishing segregation. That doesn't mean that Southern communities were willing to let go of their Jim Crow laws, and civil rights demonstrators knew this for a fact. But not everyone was willing to lay down dying and begging for mercy they never would've had from white supremacists in the fight for equality. Knowing this, some black men were willing to arm themselves and retaliate against Klan violence, and this movie is about one such group of black war veterans who choose to do so.
Forrest Whittaker plays Marcus Clay, a middle-aged black man working at a paper mill in Bogalusa, Louisiana. For some reason, most of the white folks think they can rely on him to keep other African-Americans from seeking equality, whether it involved making sure other black co-workers don't seek a promotion, or keeping his determined teenage daughter from join the CORE voting drive. When she's attacked by the police during a civil rights march, he finally decides to take action against them, and when he takes her home to reprimand her, she makes him realize that in the eyes of whitey, he's no better than any other person of color. That's when he decides he's going to team up with his neighbors, congregation, and fellow employees and form their own anti-KKK militia.
The Deacons were middle-aged and old men who were as patriotic as any other American, and were just tired of being punished for seeking their fair share in life. They're also not intimidated by the fact that the boss of the mill is also an Exhalted Cyclops of the local KKK chapter, and neither is the C.E.O., who demands that they give-in to demonstrators and end their discriminatory hiring practices. Throughout the movie the local civil rights organizers played by Jonathan Silverman & Adam Weiner make it clear they want nothing to do with the Deacons.
After all, they're about non-violence, and the Deacons are about violent retaliation. Eventually, they realize they may need them no matter how much they oppose their principles. The movie switches from color to black and white, as you'd expect, and occasionally uses footage from more famous civil rights marches like Birmingham and Selma, Alabama, but this can be forgiven. There are times you'll swear it's about to go into a heroic martyrdom cliché, but it doesn't. One foreman/Klansman sniper keeps trying to get a shot at Marcus, but loses the chance to do so. Even the showdown at the end doesn't result in the death of any black or white men.

When the bones of an unusually small hominin were discovered in a cave on the Indonesian island of Flores in 2003, the find sparked a battle in anthropological circles: were the bones the remnants of a new species of hominin, previously unknown to science, yet alive as recently as 12000 years ago -- or were the bones in the cave from modern humans suffering from microcephaly and other bone deformations?
The argument over the bones, which have come to be nicknamed 'hobbits' due to their small size and large feet, has continued in the scientific literature ever since. This week in the journal Nature, a team of researchers make the case that Homo floresiensis was indeed a distinct species, and that the hobbits may be even more distantly related to modern humans than previously thought. We'll talk about the hobbit studies and what they tell us about human evolution.

The sculpture is made from mammoth ivory
A remarkable ivory carving is arguably the oldest sculpture of a human figure yet found, scientists say.
The distorted object, which portrays a woman with huge breasts, big buttocks and exaggerated genitals, is thought to be at least 35,000 years old.
The 6cm-tall figurine, reported in the journal Nature, is the latest find to come from Hohle Fels Cave in Germany.
Previous discoveries have included exquisite carvings of animals, and an object that could be a stone "sex toy".
Professor Nicholas Conard, from the department of Early Prehistory and Quaternary Ecology, at Tübingen University, said is was understandable that many would also view the new discovery in a pornographic light, but he cautioned against jumping too quickly to a particular interpretation.
"We project our ideas of today on to this image from 40,000 years ago," he told the BBC.
"I think there are good reasons to emphasise sexual interpretations, but we really don't know whether it is coming from a more male or a more female perspective. We don't know very much about how the artefact was used."

Seven teenagers killed Marcelo Lucero, 37, in Long Island, NY, because he looked Mexican. Marcelo was a Native American immigrant from Ecuador and he was stabbed on November 8, 2008.
The killers are members of a larger gang targeting Indigenous peoples from Latin America, as a result of a generalized anti immigrant campaign including anti immigrant legislation promoted by the County Executive.
The teenagers are being prosecuted.
