Beaten, hanged, strangled, and ignored, these men and a woman lost their lives in Sheriff Joe Arpaio's custody

Some excerpts :

• On March 26, 1996, Jose Rodriquez, 39, died in a pool of his own vomit on a jail floor. His cries for help went ignored by Arpaio's jail employees. Rodriquez's dehydration, fever and twitching ultimately led to his death, even while inmates shouted for help.

• On June 1, 1996, Scott Norberg, 35, suffocated in one of Arpaio's restraint chairs. Detention officers wrestled Norberg into the chair and bound his mouth with a towel. They continued to beat and Taser him after he was handcuffed, surveillance video and court documents show. His family later won an $8.25 million settlement against Arpaio.

• Mentally retarded Charles Agster III, 33, was arrested for trespassing on August 6, 2001. Detention officers pulled a hood over his head and slammed him into a restraint chair. Agster was asphyxiated to the point that he became brain dead. He was pronounced legally dead three days later. In 2006, a federal court awarded $9 million to his family.

• In 2003, Phillip Wilson was serving two months in Tent City for a nonviolent offense. Wilson was attacked by the Aryan Brotherhood prison gang and bludgeoned into a coma. He never recovered.

• Deborah Braillard, 46, was documented as a diabetic in the jail's health records. Her cellmates say a nurse did not give Braillard insulin, and then detention officers ignored her when she went into diabetic shock. Braillard died on January 23, 2005, ultimately from lack of insulin.

• Legally blind and serving a short sentence in Tent City for shoplifting, Brian Crenshaw, 40, was transferred to solitary confinement after a tussle with Arpaio's detention officers. Six days later, he was found comatose in his solitary cell with a broken neck, ruptured intestines, broken toes, and severe internal injuries. Arpaio maintains Crenshaw sustained the injuries when he fell off his four-foot bed. Crenshaw died on March 14, 2005.

• In December 2005, Clint Yarbrough suffocated in a jail restraint chair. On April 18, 2007, the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors approved an undisclosed settlement payout to Yarbrough's family in excess of $1 million.

• Months before Thomas Bruce Cooley, 44, was found hanging by the bed sheets in his jail cell, a federal inspector had warned Arpaio that the jail psych ward was a suicide waiting to happen. A 1996 Department of Justice report specifically cautioned that inmates could use "overhanging structures" to hang themselves.

• Three more inmates died in the same way as Thomas Cooley while in Arpaio's custody: Kevin Holschlag, Michael Sanderson, and Juan Vasquez.

Hitler sent his Nazi Paid Cameramen to film the Ugliest people, the sick, the freaks of DNA, the people with Genetic Deformations, etc ... and present them as the standard, archetypal Jews to the Naive and Gullible Germans. The same for the Black French Colonial Soldiers that he captured and murdered ( not a single one escaped when he invaded France ) ... There are many Nazi movies that survived the war and that prove my assertion.

J. T. Ready is a Nazi, caught in dozens of Videos leading his Nazis in ridiculous uniforms. These clowns unfurl Big Flags with humongous Swastikas, Hitlerian Skulls ( called Totenkopfs ) and the Hitlerian Symbols of the SS, the murder squads that killed Jews, Gypsies, the Ugly, the Freaks, the Monsters and even the children that pissed the bed.

J. T. Ready preaches the most absurd Racist things and uses a Bullhorn with the image of Hitler. His Nazis deny the Holocaust and preach a Totally White American West. They want to evict and drive out all people that are not perfectly "Aryan" or "Anglo Saxon" according to their stupid myths. That has been recorded in many Videos that you can easily call and see in YouTube.com and many other websites.

This Scoundrel and Bastard J. T. Ready is in intimate friendship with Russell Pearce ( author of SB1070 ) as shown in many videos and as you can see in many Photos.

Even the most stupid person has to acknowledge that the speech of Jan Brewer and Joe Arpaio is Racist, when they accuse their hated "Illegal Aliens" or "Undocumented Workers" of being dirty, sick, transporting dangerous drugs ( the majority of Mexicans, 51% or bigger, but not all of them ), the lower and inferior race.

Arizona should be only for the "Top Echelon of Evolution"

This is the scum that rules Arizona.

Migrants in Limbo

Some excerpts :

Angela and Sofia, two Mexican-born house cleaners, were my focus group. Angela is 51 years old. She has an elegant bearing and looked almost regal in a black-and-white dress. Sofia, 41, is shorter and rounder and quick to crack a joke. Both are undocumented immigrants who have been living under the radar in Tucson, Arizona for more than a decade. To hear about their predicaments is to see exactly how much, and how little, was won in court this week.

We met in a small house belonging to a friend of theirs in South Tucson and sat around a table that was draped with a checkerboard cloth. The women were nervous at first—they rarely ventured far from home except for work, they said—but soon, speaking through an interpreter, they began to open up. Both had been floored by Bolton’s decision Wednesday. Angela said she could hardly bear to watch the news. Sofia smiled and retorted, “I watched the news every day so I would be ready to run.”

Indeed, after 1070 was signed in April, Angela and Sofia, like a lot of undocumented Arizonans, put their lives on wheels. Both considered fleeing if the law went into effect. Three weeks ago, Sofia even sent her 4-year-old daughter back to Sonora, Mexico, figuring she could meet her child there. (She’s now trying to get the child back.) Angela signed over the power of attorney for her 15-year-old daughter to her daughter’s American godparents, on the increasingly likely chance she would wind up in a Border Patrol van. For the first time in years, vanishing seemed like an option.

On the plus side, Bolton’s decision ended that feeling of terror
.....................

Another clear effect of 1070’s defeat was that it had stirred a new Hispanic civil rights movement. “1070 was the match that ignited the stick of dynamite,” said Richard Martinez, a Tucson civil rights attorney. Asked what she made of Gov. Jan Brewer, Sofia replied, “I don’t even want to see her.” Angela concurred. Among Spanish-speaking 1070 opponents, I heard Brewer referred to this week as la bruja—a Spanish rendering of her last name that means “the witch.”

City Council rejects Arizona boycott, OKs resolution in support of lawsuit against immigration law

Some excerpts :

The City Council tiptoed into the Arizona immigration fight Thursday by passing a toned-down condemnation of the law.

Council Speaker Christine Quinn refused to allow a vote on a general boycott of Arizona, so members approved a ban against Council employees using public funds to travel to the Grand Canyon State.

The resolution also authorizes Quinn to file a friend-of-the court brief on behalf of the Council supporting the federal lawsuit against the contested law, which calls for cops to check immigrants' legal status.

Before the decision of Federal Judge Susan Bolton, many Liberal Writers were hidden under the rocks. But Now, I am surprised by the growing number or articles of Law Professors, experts, pundits and aficionados praising Obama and the Department of Justice.

It was very shameful to support the Latinos or the "Illegal Aliens" and to be moderate, thinking of Human Rights before packing 12 million people in crowded trains, like cattle or like Jews going to Auschwitz.

If you supported the Humanity and Human Rights of the Dangerous Extragalactic Aliens then you were part of a horrible conspiracy against the USA and against the "Rule of Law" ... "What part of Illegal don't you understand?"

If you pointed out the inconvenience and economic absurdity of Big Progroms, then you were an enemy of America and the Americans. Rational and Economic Reasons were useless against this crowd.

And the rule of the Majority : The Majority is decreed by God and is always right : Vox Populi, Vox Dei.

But now, there are thousands of articles in the Newspapers, Magazines and the Internet praising Obama and the Moderate Democrats for their victory in a Federal Court of Arizona ....The winds are changing. Suddenly Liberals are visible.

Some People say that Obama won the battle but will lose the Immigration War :

But others like Robert Creamer in the Huffington Post say that what is going on is Good for Democrats, because Whites won't vote for "Immigration" Reasons, but Latinos will vote for the Democrats in order to defend themselves from strong harassment, stalking, bothering, persecutions, hate, fear, paranoia, etc ..

So according to prestigious strategist Robert Creamer, SB1070 has great capacity to make Latinos vote, but will be somewhat forgotten for Whites in the November Elections of the Full House and one third of the U. S. Senate.

Before SB1070 goes to the Supreme Court :

SB1070 will go before a three-judge panel in what traditionally has been labeled the most liberal appellate court in the country : United States Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco

A ruling by the three-member appellate panel could be appealed to a larger group of justices in the 9th Circuit, according to Carissa Byrne Hessick, an Arizona State University law professor. She said that is rare in most appeals courts, but the 9th Circuit has been more willing to do it. Such a ruling could then be appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court.

The life in courts of SB1070 is in its Infancy.

This will be a long protracted battle.

This decision of Federal Judge Susan Bolton is "A little bump in the road", according to Jan Brewer, Governor of Arizona.

This shows the lack of Realism of this lady, and her Nazi close friends J. T. Ready ( leader of the Nazis of Arizona ) and Russell Pearce ( author of the law ), many videos and photos show beyond doubt the Nazism ( with Swastikas, skulls, totenkops, SS Murder Symbols, etc .... of J. T. Ready, leader of Arizona Nazis ) and Russell Pearce very close friend that applauds and embraces J. T. Ready in Videos and Photos.

SB1070 is nothing but the Desert Mirage of the Republicans in Arizona, they think that Racism is going to elect them to offices and make a great future for them, that may be true short term but not for the long term future.

Ideas from the Huffington Post :

"This is clearly a significant victory for the Justice Department and a defeat for the sponsors of this law," said Peter Spiro, a constitutional law professor at Temple University who has studied immigration law extensively. "They will not win on this round of appeals. They'll get a shot after a trial and a final ruling by Judge Bolton."

Precedents on the pre-emption issue : The Bush administration successfully used the pre-emption argument to win several consumer product cases, and judges in other jurisdictions have looked favorably on the argument in immigration disputes.

July 28, 2010

Federal judge blocks key parts of Arizona immigration law :

Some excerpts :

Bolton also forbade Arizona from making it a state crime to not carry immigration documents, and struck down two other provisions as an unconstitutional attempt by Arizona to undermine the federal government's efforts to enforce immigration policy.

In her 36-page decision, Bolton wrote that the provisions would have inevitably "swept up" legal immigrants and were "preempted" by the federal government's immigration authority.

"The court by no means disregards Arizona's interests in controlling illegal immigration and addressing the concurrent problems with crime," she wrote. But, she added, "it is not in the public interest for Arizona to enforce preempted laws."

Gov. Jan Brewer vowed a swift appeal to the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. "We would have liked to have seen it all upheld, but a temporary injunction is not the end of it," she said through a smile after an appearance in Tucson. "I look at this as a little bump in the road."
.................

Bolton's decision came as little surprise to many legal experts, who had predicted that the law, SB 1070, would be halted because it appeared to contradict U.S. Supreme Court precedent.
.............

Many of the parts of the statute that Bolton, an appointee of President Clinton, allowed to go into effect are largely technical. She preserved a clause that forbids any local entity from creating a policy of less than full enforcement of federal immigration laws, as well as a provision that makes it a misdemeanor to block traffic to solicit work or hire a worker -- an effort aimed at getting rid of day laborers.

But she found that the federal government was likely to prevail in trial in its arguments against the other provisions, making it likely that her temporary order will eventually become permanent, said Andy Hessick, a law professor at Arizona State University.

"It would be very surprising if the permanent injunction were to differ after trial," he said.
................

Outside the federal courthouse in Phoenix, Vice Mayor Michael Nowakowski, a Democrat and strong foe of the law, said debate over SB 1070 had been a political sideshow that didn't make the state safer. He dismissed polls showing a majority of voters in Arizona and in the U.S. back the measure.

"Polls are for politicians before elections; they're not for civil rights," said Nowakowski, contending that many civil rights laws would have polled poorly in the 1950s and '60s.

Arizona will file expedited appeal to lift SB 1070 ruling

Some excerpts :

A judge's ruling Wednesday putting on hold key parts of Arizona's new immigration law will head to the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, but legal experts said there are other options to settle the dispute with the federal government.

Gov. Jan Brewer said the state would file an expedited appeal today and ask the appellate court to lift the injunction put in place Wednesday by U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton. The state also will ask the 9th Circuit, based in San Francisco, to fast-track court filings and a ruling.

However, the appeals court could take several weeks or a few months before it even hears an expedited case, said Gabriel "Jack" Chin, a University of Arizona law professor who specializes in immigration and criminal law.

"It's not going to be two weeks from now they are making a decision," Chin said. "The nature of the appellate process is, everyone has a chance to look at it. Even as an important expedited case like this, they will go step by step."

The state's appeal will deal only with Bolton's injunction, which stopped four provisions of the law. There still are seven lawsuits whose arguments on the law's constitutionality await litigation. Those include the one by the federal government that prompted Wednesday's ruling.

Legal experts said the state's appeal likely will go before a three-judge panel in what traditionally has been labeled the most liberal appellate court in the country.

However, the 9th Circuit previously upheld Arizona's employer-sanctions law, which cracks down on businesses that hire illegal immigrants. That case is now before the U.S. Supreme Court.

Judge Issues Preliminary Injunction in Arizona Litigation

Some excerpts :

On July 28, 2010, United States District Judge Susan Bolton issued a preliminary injunction that prevents Arizona from enforcing portions of its now infamous legislation, S.B. 1070. While the injunction does not prohibit enforcement of all sections of the law, the injunction does prohibit enforcement of the most controversial sections.
................

In her opinion granting the preliminary injunction, Judge Bolton stated that the United States is likely to succeed on the merits that several sections of S.B. 1070 are preempted by federal law. Specifically, Judge Bolton enjoined Arizona from enforcing Section 2(B) of S.B. 1070, which requires that “an officer make a reasonable attempt to determine the immigration status of a person stopped, detained or arrested if there is a reasonable suspicion that the person is unlawfully present in the United States, and requiring verification of the immigration status of any person arrested prior to releasing that person.” This section of the law has been heavily criticized that it allows Arizona law enforcement to engage in racial profiling.

Judge Bolton also enjoined Section 3, which makes it a crime for “the failure to apply for or carry alien registration papers,” and Section 5, which makes it a crime “for an unauthorized alien to solicit, apply for, or perform work.” Finally, Judge Bolton enjoined Section 6, which authorizes “the warrantless arrest of a person where there is probable cause to believe the person has committed a public offense that makes the person removable from the United States.” Judge Bolton further explained that “the United States is likely to suffer irreparable harm if the Court does not preliminarily enjoin enforcement of these Sections of S.B. 1070 and that the balance of equities tips in the United States’ favor considering the public interest.”

Video of Keith Olbermann in a rage against Fox News for condemning Black Lady Shirley Sherrod without thinking and examining the facts

The Super Enemy of Fox News ( Someone I like and admire ) Keith Olbermann in Great Passion and Fury says :

"Let me make this utterly clear: What you see on Fox News, what you read on Right Wing websites, is the utter and complete perversion of journalism, and it can have no place in a civilized society. It is words crashed together, never to inform, only to inflame. It is a political guillotine. It is the manipulation of reality to make the racist seem benevolent, and to convict the benevolent as racist"

Keith Olbermann compares the story of what happened to this Black Lady to the story of Alfred Dreyfus in France.

It involved the conviction for treason in November 1894 of Captain Alfred Dreyfus, a young French artillery officer of Alsatian Jewish descent. Sentenced to life imprisonment for allegedly having communicated French military secrets to the German Embassy in Paris, Dreyfus was sent to the penal colony at Devil's Island in French Guiana and placed in solitary confinement.

It was a conspiracy of Slander and Lies organized by Bastards, Cowards, Liers, Political Opportunists.

I am Vicente Duque, and I have also been persecuted in a conspiracy of Slander and Lies organized by Bastards, Cowards, Liers, and Political Opportunists. So I can easily identify with this Lady Shirley Sherrod or with Captain Dreyfus.

Alvaro Huerta: Arizona Gov. Brewer’s Mexican Nightmare in the Future

Some excerpts of a long funny fantast story :

Also, the Mexican nannies (and house cleaners) all agreed to speak only in Spanish to the American children in their care. Refusing to be paid extra for the Spanish lessons, the domestic workers created a linguistic wedge between the American children and their monolingual parents.

Secondly, the Mexicans unanimously agreed to have a lot of babies. Over time, the Mexican population growth rate in the U.S. would eventually surpass the white-majority. While Mexicans agreed to have 8 babies on average, for instance, the Americans maintained their meager 1.5 babies on average.

Also, the Mexicans, meeting in maternity wards, decided to select the same baby names, such as Jose and Maria, to confuse the Americans. This allowed the Mexicans to easily exchange birth certificates, driver licenses and jobs.

“This is perfect,” one Mexican said at the original meeting. “Not only do we all look alike, we can exchange identities with each other.”

Suddenly, Brewer awakes from her nightmare, finding herself in the same strange, white room. This time, however, she finds herself with company.

“Who are you all and where am I?” asks Brewer.

“I’m your doctor,” says the first person. “My name is Dr. Maria Gomez and you’re in a long-term care facility in Mexico.”

“Hello,” says the second person. “My name is Jose Gonzalez and I’m your nurse.”

“Good morning,” says the third person. “My name is Maria Cruz and I will care for all of your hygienic needs.” “I want to go home,” pleads Brewer.

“This is your new home,” says Dr. Gomez. “Your family couldn’t care for you anymore and they brought you here since Arizona exported all of their hospitals and long term care facilities.”

“Don’t worry,” Maria say, “In Mexico we have a saying, ‘Mi casa, es su casa.’ We’ll treat you like family.”

The company headquarters is located in Champaign, Illinois - They were supporting the Arizona Republicans, but now and due to pressure of the consumers, they have condemned the New Racist Law SB1070 and have changed political strategy of giving money to Racist Republicans in Arizona.

Tostitos is a brand of tortilla chips and (more recently) dips produced by Frito-Lay and introduced in 1979, with national distribution in the United States reached in 1981. They are made from all-white corn. Traditionally, Tostitos chips contain no extra flavoring or preservatives, and thus are advertised to be suited for dipping. They are lightly salted, however. Chips are about 1 ⅓ of an inch in diameter, and are often eaten with salsa or nacho cheese dip, which the company also produces.

Washington Post : Obama is courageous, brave, bold, fearless and strong : He takes ownership of Arizona Lawsuit, through the words of press secretary Robert Gibbs

Obama is not governing by Polls and Popularity but by what he feels to be right, constitutional and lawful - He is intelligent, knowledgeable, wise, doctoral, professorial, studious and earnest in law.

Here in this article of the Washington Post you see the President of the United States as a Statesman and not a leaf in the storm, dragged by the powerful winds.

The attitude of the President makes Democratic candidates and consultants very queasy and nervous, they are much afraid of being defeated in the elections, but this Great President ( and Law Professor ) knows that the Lawsuit against Arizona won't be a Great Issue in the Next November Elections.

Do you see ??? -- This guy is intelligent and smart. Barack Obama is a Great President and Statesman.

White House takes ownership of Arizona lawsuit

Some excerpts :

Good. It looks like the White House isn't flinching from taking ownership of the Justice Department's lawsuit to overturn the Arizona immigration law.

After the lawsuit was announced yesterday, people began asking whether Obama would refrain from attaching himself to it, since in theory Justice decides to pursue such cases independently. But in today's press briefing, Robert Gibbs said Obama stands squarely behind the decision.

This is a risky move, no question. A new Rassmussen poll finds that 56 percent of U.S. voters oppose the lawsuit. Yes, it's Ras, but that finding is in line with other polls showing majority support for the law.

Today Gibbs twice stated that Obama is behind the lawsuit, citing the need for the Federal government, not the states, to set immigration policy.

"The President believes that we filed a strong case based on the fact that you can't have 50 states making a patchwork of immigration decisions," Gibbs said.

Gibbs acknowledged that the lawsuit could be bad politics, but framed the decision to sue as proof that the administration was not taking politics into account.

"The President wasn't elected to do what was popular; he was elected to do what's right," Gibbs said, reiterating Obama's opposition to states-based solutions: "Only through Federally passed immigration reform will we truly have a national standard. That's the reason that the lawsuit was filed."

In reality, by embracing the lawsuit, the White House is placing one political imperative over another.

The lawsuit to overturn the popular Arizona measure will very likely be used against Dems in swing districts across the country. But White House advisers are said to be concerned that Obama's declining numbers among Latinos could spell trouble in key states in 2010 and 2012. And Harry Reid needs big Latino support to get reelected.

Immigration reform -- the best way to boost Latino support -- may not move this year. And so, in embracing the effort to overturn the law, the White House appears to be opting to speak to Latinos and other base voters on this contentious issue.

Thoughts on Evil and Hypocrisy : Leonardo da Vinci Quote : "He who does not punish evil commands it to be done" ... I add this from my crop : "Those that do not protest evil, authorize it" - History of German Pastor Martin Niemöller :

The New Arizona Law SB1070 is sheer evil causing "Racial Profiling", Brutality, etc ....

Not content with the damage done to many Human Beings and the Entire State of Arizona the Governor Jan Brewer and her Nazi allies are passing other Racist Laws to forbid "Ethnic Studies" and to disenfranchise many American Citizens ( Babies born in the USA that are constitutionally citizens when they reach the legal age ).

These Racist People practice a Great Hypocrisy of saying : "Do not boycott Arizona, because you will hurt the Latinos working in Tourism, Hotels, Agriculture, etc ...." ....

That argument is ridiculous because it is Brewer and Nazis that have caused the Great Boycott and Great Damage to Arizona. They do not care about the Hated Latinos, they have sympathy and empathy only for their wallets ... Their solidarity is only to their pockets and their brutal Racism.

Hundreds of Thousands of Latinos have abandoned Arizona for Greener Pastures, causing a Great Fall of Sales, Sales Taxes, and depressing the values of Real Estate, Vacated Properties are not a beautiful sight, and they push lower prices for houses, warehouses, store Locations, buildings, apartments, etc ...

After the Ethnic Cleansing of Latinos is complete, these Nazis will follow with Blacks, Native American Indians, Asians, Jews, etc .....

Remember what Judge Andrew Napolitano said recently :

"Police Officers do "Racial Profiling" all the time ... that is why We have Judges"

Famous German Pastor Martin Niemöller :

Martin Niemöller was born on 1892 and died on 1982. He was a German national conservative who supported Adolf Hitler in 1934, but then when he realized what Mr. Hitler was up to and all about, be became one of the founders of the Confessing Church that opposed the nazification of German Protestant churches.
By then it was too late.

He had no quarrel with Hitler politically and only begun to oppose the Nazi when Hitler threatened to attack the churches.

Niemöller stated that his imprisonment by the Nazis for eight years had been the turning point of his life where he saw things drastically different. He believed that the church had not done enough to resist the Nazis.

In 1961, he became president of the World Council of Churches.
Here his words are reproduced from the Washington DC memorial plaque:

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out -
because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade unionists, and I did not speak out -
because I was not a Trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out -
because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me – and there was no one left to speak for me.

Editorial: SB 1070 law must be enforced consistently

Some excerpts :

The Arizona Municipal Risk Retention Pool on Monday asked for permission to file a brief explaining that municipalities could face costly lawsuits over a provision that prohibits release of an arrested person until the person's immigration status is determined, according to The Associated Press.

The self-insurance pool for dozens of smaller Arizona cities and towns wants a federal judge to put that provision of the state's new immigration enforcement law on hold, pending a final ruling on its legality.

The bill is to become law July 29, 2010, unless the judge stays all or part of it, pending the lawsuits' outcome.

The insurance pool says municipalities could see lawsuits from people detained if the provision is ultimately ruled invalid. And it says there could be costly lawsuits if the provision isn't enforced.

Its first concern could be a matter of civil rights; however, these concerns remain to be seen. Even the federal lawsuit does not focus on this provision.
.....................

The insurance pool admits that some of its members support the law and others oppose it. That means - extrapolating from the APME studies - jurisdictions may be picking and choosing what they will and won't enforce when it comes to SB 1070. If that's the case, the insurance pool is right: We've got a big problem.

The World of Rand Paul & Pals

Some excerpts

Fourteen years later, all through the South, the Morgan decision might just as well have never been written. Back-of-the-bus for black people was still the rule in the Old Confederacy and border states from Maryland to Texas. A couple of subsequent "reconciliation" rides were proposed in the '50s, but never came to fruition.

In the spring of 1961, however, fueled by a new Supreme Court ruling – Boynton v. Virginia – mandating desegregated eating, restroom and other facilities in bus terminals and rail stations, energized by young African Americans protesting at lunch counters the previous year, and hopeful for the backing of a young President (who had said in his inaugural address that "the torch has been passed to a new generation of Americans" and had campaigned on a promise of eliminating discrimination in federally funded housing projects "with one stroke of the pen") - CORE initiated the "Freedom Rides."

As in '47, the tactic was for a small group of black passengers to ride in the white sections of buses and allied white passengers to ride in the black sections. It was not just a symbolic protest against judicially overturned laws, but a direct challenge to the white power structure, both in the segregated states where civil rights protests were met with billy clubs, fire hoses and German Shepherds, but also in the complacent North where the complaints about Jim Crow – in spite of the Supreme Court’s rulings – were greeted with entreaties a century after the Civil War had begun to wait a while longer. Among those vigorously urging the Freedom Riders not to take their action was that young President and his Attorney General brother.

On May 4, 1961, 22 people, white and black, left Washington, D.C., riding a Greyhound and a Trailways bus bound for the Deep South. The harassment and violence worsened the further they rode. In Rockhill, S.C., future Congressman John Lewis and another Freedom Rider were beaten when they tried to use a white restroom. This received extensive news coverage. As the Riders arrived in Anniston, Ala., near Birmingham, on May 14, they were surrounded by a stone-throwing Ku Klux Klan mob shouting "Kill the niggers." The police were absent. Tires were slashed, and the bus driver sped away, stopping six miles outside town to fix the flats. In pursuit, the mob attacked the bus again and someone tossed a firebomb. In Birmingham, the Trailways bus was also attacked by a Klan-led mob that beat the Freedom Riders, paralyzing William Barbee for life.

The next day, photos of the burned bus and beaten Freedom Riders were published in newspapers across America.

New riders from the Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee in Nashville arrived and continued on to Montgomery despite pleas from the White House and the Attorney General. As James Farmer, then CORE’s director recalled, "Robert Kennedy asked Dr. (Martin Luther) King to intercede, to try to get me to halt the Freedom Ride and have a cooling-off period. ... I asked Dr. King to tell Bobby Kennedy that we’d been cooling off for 350 years, and that if we cooled off any more, we’d be in a deep freeze." (Eyes on the Prize, p. 146.)

Freedom Riders went on to Montgomery, where a mob beat more of them, and to Jackson, Miss., where they were jailed en masse. More riders appeared. Each of them pledged, if arrested, to stay in jail for at least 39 days before asking CORE to bail them out. Many wound up at the dreaded Parchman State Pen, where, in a supreme irony, they integrated the prison for the first time, black and white prisoners being held together in the same cell block. Eventually, 443 Freedom Riders would risk their lives, with nearly 400 being arrested.

.
Someone writes to me saying that the Boycotts against Arizona are wrong, because innocent and nice people are suffering - This idea is wrong and I answer that letter here :

The letter telling me, that boycotts against Arizona are wrong :

"You are absolutely right that AZ's SB1070 is both racist and ludicrous, as is any argument that it's not racist. It is racist by definition.

But just who does boycotting AZ businesses hurt? Not the out-of-staters that drafted it, nor the legislators that passed it.

Boycotts hurt a lot of well-meaning Arizonans the same way that 1070 will hurt innocent people.

The law is wrong, and boycotting all of AZ because of some misguided politicians is wrong.

An Arizonan."

My answer :

No, the boycotts against Arizona are not wrong, because it is the only way that these wicked Republican Racists of Arizona are exposed in full light as Racists and Evil.

Many non-Latino people that supported the law are now losing money, now they care. Those that were indifferent, are now losing money ........ that is the only thing that pains them, they do not care about others, but care about their wallets and pockets. They have sympathy and empathy with their wallets.

There are many videos in YouTube.com of the Arizona Nazis parading with big flags of Swastikas, Hitlerian Skulls ( Totenkopfs ), murder symbols of the SS and Gestapo, the Nazi Murderers of Jews, etc ... J. T. Ready, a bastard, is the leader of the Arizona Nazis, and he is a very close friend of Russell Pearce, the author of the Racist Laws. There is a great body of video and photo proofs.

With respect to Jan Brewer, she is a cretin and idiot ( even if reelected ), if she is not a Nazi or NeoNazi then she is a cryptoNazi or PhiloNazi, and in any case she is Racist Scum.

With respect to the Latinos ( legal or illegal ) that are migrating out of Arizona, they will improve their lives in a state or country where they are not hated. And they are accustomed to migrations. This expulsion was not caused by the outside boycotts from say California, these expulsions were caused by the wickedness and evil of the Arizona Republicans, Jan Brewer and her Nazi Friends J. T. Ready and Russell Pearce.

Those like the Jews that are hated and have to migrate become great businessmen.

Those Latinos that are losing jobs in Arizona, are losing jobs not because of the boycotts, but because of these Nazis and Racists. And they will improve their lives elsewhere. Their departure makes Great Economic Harm to Arizona, but that is not known or ignored by Racist Cretins and Idiots.

Without the boycott Jan Brewer and these people of evil would have continued making greater harm with their Hate, Racism and Bastardy.

It would have been great if Hitler and the Nazis had been boycotted by the rest of the World in 1933 and subsequent years.

Indifference of the Good People is what makes their careers so easy for the Wicked and for Evil to triumph ( at least temporarily ). Because these bastards have no long term Political Future. They will be defeated.

Ventura County is a county in the southern part of the U.S. state of California (Southern California). It is located on California's Pacific coast. It is often referred to as the Gold Coast, and has a reputation of being one of the safest populated places and one of the most affluent places in the country. It is ranked as one of the 100 highest-income counties in the country and as the sixth wealthiest county in California by per capita income.

Panel urges Oxnard to boycott Arizona

Some excerpts :

Many of us did travel in the South, and saw signs that read, “No Jews, dogs, or N. . . s allowed” and we learned from them. To paraphrase Supreme Court Justice Potter Stewart, I may not be able to define racism, but I know it when I see it.

Despite the governor’s denials, racism is blatantly clear in SB1070. One clause in this infamous law says that a private citizen who does not think a police officer is enforcing the law can take that officer to court. The implication is that a KKK member can sue a police officer for not being sufficiently racist.

It is interesting that police chiefs in several Arizona counties have come out in opposition to this law which discourages citizen cooperation with the police and encourages rogue cops who dishonor the badge by arresting drivers for DWB (driving while black) to expand their practice to DWH (driving while Hispanic). We salute the dedicated cops who oppose this law.

Let’s look at reality. Canadians or northern Europeans who have overstayed their visas are not sought. This law declares an open hunting season on Hispanics. After all, skin color is not the issue here. It is inconceivable that a family member of Cochise or Geronimo should carry evidence of citizenship. Such a requirement appears to be blatantly racist.

But that is what racial profiling is all about. To require citizens of Apache, Hopi and Navajo blood to prove their citizenship because of their skin color is ludicrous. After all, their ancestors were here at least 10,000 years before any Europeans arrived.

It also says that all immigrants must carry identification with them 24/7. Does this imply a practical necessity for Hispanic citizens to carry their American passport all the time? Of what administration in what country does that remind you?

Given the issues described herein, we encourage the City Council to join Boston, New York City, St. Paul and the cities of Sacramento, Oakland, San Diego, San Francisco and both the city and county of Los Angeles, in banning official business trips to Arizona and entering into new contracts with that state.

The Latino Fools that support SB1070 ....that will be until they begin to be stalked, harassed, bothered, annoyed and even "molested" by the Nazi Scoundrels and Bastards in Arizona

Remember that Hitler was very popular and won office in popular elections.

Slavery was very popular
Segregation was very popular
Apartheid was very popular

The last three things won many elections

But Politics is very fleeting, ephemeral, passing quickly .... Tomorrow there will be a new oil spill, a new divorce or crime with a Hollywood Star.

The Obama lawsuit against Arizona won't be an issue in November, because people have short memories, and even racists will have a new toy, that is a new interest.

After the Arizona Racist Laws are declared unconstitutional or repealed, People will suddenly lose interest in this issue. But Arizona will be left with the fame of a Land of Filthy Feelings and Bastardy and that will continue producing chaos in Tourism and Conventions.

To repair the Brand "Arizona" is not so easy and cheap as Jan Brewer and her Republican Nazis and Cretins believe.

There are hundred, thousands or millions of Rich Mexicans, Coloreds, Blacks, and Browns of many nations ... And they will think twice before vacationing or conventioning in a land where they are stalked, harassed, irritated, tormented, tortured, plagued, hounded, pestered, disturbed, angered, annoyed, "molested" by Nazi Scoundrels and Bastard Redneck Cretins.

Arizona will be left with the Bad Fame and the Bad Public Relations, and believe me that all human beings and babies born in clinics are not Milk White and do not belong to the "Top Echelon of Evolution" ... So they may be not worthy of AryanZona and NaziZona.

They can vote with their dollars for another location where they are loved and received with Warmth and Affection.

So you think that all people of India, Pakistan, Iraq, Syria, Palestine, Middle East, South Asia, Eastern Asia, Japan, China are loving Arizona for the Bastardy and Racial Hatred ??

Or do you think that they are condemned to poverty, and that they are very poor forever ??

Do not make me laugh ??

Tomorrow we may be the servants and tourists attendants, or valets of these Brown and Colored People.

Mahatma Gandhi was kicked out of a train in South Africa for being "colored and lower race". The same for the king of Hawaii in a train in America in 183x. But the future may be different. And we may be the waiters in trains to serve these "colored" people.

Will SB 1070 help or hurt?

Some excerpts :

The overwhelming evidence is that SB 1070 will be a net economic loser for a state already in a depression. The most comprehensive national work on the public costs of illegals vs. their output for the economy has been done by UCLA's Raul Hinojosa. The verdict: The aliens are a net positive. Nowhere is this more true than Arizona.

The anti-immigrant bill is already dearly costing the crucial tourism industry from boycotts. Its explicit political extremism will deter capital formation and investments by quality corporations. To the extent that it causes an exodus of illegal immigrants, it will further erode the tax base, for those aliens pay a disproportionate share of their incomes to Arizona's regressive tax system. Most will stay, even deeper in the shadows and out of the mainstream, adding to the state's lost human capital and talent. Most important is this: No low-wage, easily exploitable migrant labor force, no Growth Machine.

I know this isn't what even some Rogue readers want to hear. The majorities that supposedly support SB 1070 are living through the worst economic conditions of their lives. Many apparently believe that if illegal immigration were stopped, they would find jobs as pharmacists, computer programmers and accountants — and at rising wages.

It's unclear if they would be willing to work for $5 an hour framing houses, laboring atop 140-degree rooftops or picking lettuce. In reality, illegal immigration alone plays a small role in the diminishing fortunes of the American middle class. An unemployment crisis where five people are chasing every job. Too much legal immigration — maybe. Corporate greed, offshoring of jobs, the hollowing out of the manufacturing economy — definitely.
..................

SB 1070 was never meant to be about fixing Arizona's economy. Decades of inattention to building a diverse, high-quality, high-wage economy have produced a disaster. Jan Brewer thinks economic development is appointing a committee. Illegal immigration played a role only in so much as it is connected to a Real Estate Industrial Complex run on the backs of cheap, fearful illegal workers.

The real goals of the bill have been political. First, to give "conservatives" an emotional issue that resonates in desperate times (made so in reality by the right's "free market" policies). Second: voter suppression — keep the legal Hispanic working poor in their place. That's why I call it a Jim Crow law. In the Jim Crow South, the last thing the ruling elites wanted was for all the blacks to leave — who would pick the crops and do menial work? If Russell Pearce could have segregated "Mexican" drinking fountains and waiting rooms, I'm sure he would. But sprawl has already accomplished a soft apartheid in Phoenix. In any event, SB 1070 has succeeded brilliantly at these political goals.

The white-right elites don't want the illegals to leave, either. God, for a newspaper that would document how the East Valley businesses, the Real Estate Industrial Complex and other enablers of the kooks use alien labor. They want them in their place, more afraid, even more easy to exploit. Even more of a target for white-right cruelty.

We do research on Racism, something that is based on prejudice and bigotry, also in psychological experiences of failure, being a loser, dysfunctional family, lack of love, etc ..... This research shows how difficult is for the human being to change prejudices, bigotry, hate and fear, etc ....

This also explains why big important "Pundits" of TV, Newspapers, etc .... predict political events and developments that never happen ( in Foreign Policy, for example ) and they continue erring and being followed by a mass of naive people.

This also explains why changing the mind of a Racist is almost impossible, because changing his world view is akin to changing his self-esteem. And that process would entail a lot of pain for the Racist.

Researchers discover a surprising threat to democracy: our brains

Some excerpts :

In the end, truth will out. Won’t it?

Maybe not. Recently, a few political scientists have begun to discover a human tendency deeply discouraging to anyone with faith in the power of information. It’s this: Facts don’t necessarily have the power to change our minds. In fact, quite the opposite. In a series of studies in 2005 and 2006, researchers at the University of Michigan found that when misinformed people, particularly political partisans, were exposed to corrected facts in news stories, they rarely changed their minds. In fact, they often became even more strongly set in their beliefs. Facts, they found, were not curing misinformation. Like an underpowered antibiotic, facts could actually make misinformation even stronger.

This bodes ill for a democracy, because most voters — the people making decisions about how the country runs — aren’t blank slates. They already have beliefs, and a set of facts lodged in their minds. The problem is that sometimes the things they think they know are objectively, provably false. And in the presence of the correct information, such people react very, very differently than the merely uninformed. Instead of changing their minds to reflect the correct information, they can entrench themselves even deeper.

“The general idea is that it’s absolutely threatening to admit you’re wrong,” says political scientist Brendan Nyhan, the lead researcher on the Michigan study. The phenomenon — known as “backfire” — is “a natural defense mechanism to avoid that cognitive dissonance.”
..................

Most of us like to believe that our opinions have been formed over time by careful, rational consideration of facts and ideas, and that the decisions based on those opinions, therefore, have the ring of soundness and intelligence. In reality, we often base our opinions on our beliefs, which can have an uneasy relationship with facts. And rather than facts driving beliefs, our beliefs can dictate the facts we chose to accept. They can cause us to twist facts so they fit better with our preconceived notions. Worst of all, they can lead us to uncritically accept bad information just because it reinforces our beliefs. This reinforcement makes us more confident we’re right, and even less likely to listen to any new information.

This effect is only heightened by the information glut, which offers — alongside an unprecedented amount of good information — endless rumors, misinformation, and questionable variations on the truth. In other words, it’s never been easier for people to be wrong, and at the same time feel more certain that they’re right.

All-Star Boycott Coming? Baseball Players Lash Out at Arizona Immigration Law

Some excerpts :

With the All-Star Game set for tonight in Anaheim, opponents of Arizona's controversial immigration law are spotlighting comments from Major League Baseball players opposing the law - including some who says they would boycott next year's All Star game in Phoenix over the legislation.

"I'm opposed to it. How are you going to tell me that, me being Hispanic, if you stop me and I don't have my ID, you're going to arrest me? That can't be," St. Louis Cardinals first baseman Albert Pujols told USA Today.

Detroit Tigers relief pitcher Jose Valverde told the Arizona Republic the law is "the stupidest thing you can ever have."

"Nothing against Americans, but us Latinos have contributed so much to this country," Valverde said. "We get our hands dirty and do the work gringos don't want to do. We're the ones out there cleaning the streets. Americans don't want to do that stuff. "

Another All-Star, Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Yovani Gallardo, added, "If the game is in Arizona, I will totally boycott."

Here's the San Diego Padres' Jerry Hairston Jr., speaking to ESPN: "It reminds me of seeing the old movies with the Nazis when they ask you to show your papers. It's not right. I can't imagine my mom -- who's been a U.S. citizen longer than I've been alive, who was born and raised in Mexico -- being asked to show her papers. I can't imagine that happening. So it kind of hits home for me."

And Padres catcher Yorvit Torrealba, on next year's game: "I think they should move [the game], because it's going to be a lot of Latin players in the All-Star Game. I guarantee you they want to take their families. In my mind, I would be like, 'I wonder if my family is all right here?' That's why they should move it; that way nobody has to worry about that stuff."

"If I'm voted [into the All-Star team] I'm going to have to really think about [playing], because I have a lot of friends that are not white," added teammate Heath Bell. "Sometimes you need to stick up for your friends and family."

The Election of Mr Obama did not finish the Racists, because Racism depends on being a loser, a failure, sometimes a child of a dysfunctional family.

The Election of Mr Obama did not finish the Racists, because Racism depends on being a loser, a failure, sometimes a child of a dysfunctional family. There are too many of those unfortunate and pathetic human beings.

They are always looking for a scapegoat or a victim to take revenge of their miserable life.

As long as people fail in love, sex, marriage, business, job, profession, family life, parenting, etc ... there will be Racists and Haters.

Some Republicans in Idaho want to forbid the word "Fiesta" because it may belong to the Spanish Language ( and other languages too ! )

This "Fiesta" Revolution shows the imbecility of the Racists, their low intelligence of Bigots.

The Arizona Laws have caused a Big Tsunami of Hate, we see that in the attacks of teachers against little Children for being Mexican American or for not being of the Right Race. This is the Topmost in Cowardice and Bastardy ( being bastards but not teachers ... ) or are they teaching Hate ??

The idiots say : "What part of Illegal do you not understand ?? " and I say "What part of ruining Arizona do you not understand ??" ... "What part of losing millions of dollars in tourism and conventions do you not understand ??"

When Arizona SB 1070 falls for being an unconstitutional piece of nonsense and stupidity, there will be a fantastic "fiesta".
