We have seen a lot of Religious Hypocrisy lately - Of Racists, Jingoists and Militarists speaking in the name of God and guiding fools, the naive and the gullible. Yes, in August 2010.
Note : I am not accusing the Puritans of the Mayflower ship of any crime, murder or "original sin" that all their American descendants share. The brutalities of the puritans in England happened after the Mayflower voyage in 1620. Oliver Cromwell was a brutal and despicable dictator using Religion to advance his personal power.
There is a possibility that all this religious fanaticism, bigotry and bastardy were instrumental in the Mass Murder or Holocaust of the Native American Indians. The Salem witch trials were a series of trials to prosecute people accused of witchcraft in colonial Massachusetts, between February 1692 and May 1693. More than 30 people were brutally killed. And the records of these trials, correspondence and related annals that survive, show that the Native Americans were perceived as worshippers of the devil.
If you are Scottish or Irish, then you do not need me to tell you how Brutal and Bastard Oliver Cromwell was.

The turning point in Calvin's fortunes occurred when Michael Servetus, a fugitive from ecclesiastical authorities, appeared in Geneva on 13 August 1553. Servetus was a Spaniard who boldly criticised Christian dogma. In particular, he rejected the doctrine of the Trinity. In July 1530 he disputed with Johannes Oecolampadius in Basel and was eventually expelled.
On his way to Italy, Servetus stopped in Geneva for unknown reasons and attended one of Calvin's sermons in St Pierre. Calvin had him arrested, and Calvin's secretary Nicholas de la Fontaine composed a list of accusations that was submitted before the court.
This plea was refused and on 27 October, Servetus was burnt alive—atop a pyre of his own books—at the Plateau of Champel at the edge of Geneva.[45]

He left Geneva to head the English refugee church in Frankfurt but he was forced to leave over differences concerning the liturgy, thus ending his association with the Church of England.
On his return to Scotland, he led the Protestant Reformation in Scotland, in partnership with the Scottish Protestant nobility. The movement may be seen as a revolution, since it led to the ousting of Mary of Guise, who governed the country in the name of her young daughter, Mary, Queen of Scots. Puritans by definition felt that the English Reformation had not gone far enough, and that the Church of England was tolerant of practices which they associated with the Catholic Church. They formed into and identified with various religious groups advocating greater "purity" of worship and doctrine, as well as personal and group piety. Puritans adopted a Reformed theology and in that sense were Calvinists (as many of their earlier opponents were, too), but also took note of radical views critical of Zwingli in Zurich and Calvin in Geneva.

He was one of the commanders of the New Model Army which defeated the royalists in the English Civil War. This is a desertion from the "Confederacy", the deep South is more pro SB1070 than the Illustrated States like California, New York, Illinois, New England including Massachusetts .
Texas is also defecting and deserting the "Confederacy" and joining the "Union", even if Governor Rick Perry wants a "Second Confederacy" and a new Secession.
Important Texas Cities : San Antonio, Austin, Brownsville and El Paso condemned Arizona for bigotry.
And Dallas is like the donkey that could not decide which stack of hay to eat.

Sherman's March to the Sea is the name commonly given to the Savannah Campaign conducted across Georgia during November-December 1864 by Maj. Gen. William Tecumseh Sherman of the Union Army in the American Civil War. The campaign began with Sherman's troops leaving the captured city of Atlanta, Georgia on November 15 and ended with the capture of the port of Savannah on December 21. It inflicted significant damage, particularly to industry and infrastructure (as per the doctrine of total war), and also to civilian property. A military historian wrote that Sherman "defied military principles by operating deep within enemy territory and without lines of supply or communication. He destroyed much of the South's potential and psychology to wage war."[1]

Sherman's March to the Sea followed his successful Atlanta Campaign of May to September 1864. He and U.S. Army commander, Lt. Gen. Ulysses S. Grant, believed that the Civil War would end only if the Confederacy's strategic, economic, and psychological capacity for warfare were decisively broken. Sherman therefore applied the principles of scorched earth: he ordered his troops to burn crops, kill livestock and consume supplies. Finally he thought about civilian infrastructure along their path. This policy is often considered a component strategy of total war. The recent re-election of President Abraham Lincoln ensured that short-term political pressure would not be applied to restrain these tactics.
A second objective of the campaign was more traditional. Grant's armies in Virginia continued to be in a stalemate against Robert E. Lee's army, besieged in Petersburg, Virginia. By moving in Lee's rear, performing a massive turning movement against him, Sherman could possibly increase pressure on Lee, allowing Grant the opportunity to break through, or at least keep Southern reinforcements away from Virginia.

The Republican has evolved in an environment that is severely testing their senses, specially their eyesight. Biologic Darwinian Evolution needs pauses and the Republicans have had no truce in this rapidly changing ecosystem.
Since there are new species in the Jungle, it would be nice if the Republican could perceive the difference between their preys : Black, Mexican, Latino, Asian, Hindu, Pakistani, Japanese, Native American Indian, Filipino, etc ...
But the Radar of their eyesight and their laser of X-rays to detect other animals have not evolved with enough speed to adapt the Republican to the New Ecological Conditions of the Jungle. They can not tell other animals apart and Blacks, Reds, Yellows and Browns are confused in the same bag.
The Result is severe stress with strong segregation of adrenaline, testosterone and cortisone. That leads to severe heart deficiency in Empathy and Sympathy, in Compassion and Commiseration.
Republicans develop "Stone Hearts" that would be the envy of "Lot's Wife".
Republicans gather in special places of the Jungle to be cured by Doctors Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck that have invented the most famous elixirs and balsams of "Bias Confirmation" and "Confirmation Bias".....
The Poor Republicans have adopted "herd mentality" after having been individual animals ( like the jaguar ) they now follow alpha male John McCain and alpha female Sarah Palin.
John McCain exudes a special sexy pheromone called "Money" to drive the herd and Sarah Palin is most famous for exuding her "Tea Party" pheromone that is the greatest inventions since sex to drive people together.
The Problem with Republicans is similar to that of Elephants in Africa ( specially in the Serengeti plains ) that become mad and kill the Rhinos. Before the stress they lived happily together.
In other words Republican Aggressivity is a problem of our days, and the best laboratories have failed in finding a cure for this form of Hate, Fear and Paranoia against other species.
It has been suggested that hybridization with other species could help their horrible predicament, but they feel a natural horror at "Mongrelization".

A Big Victory ( Landslide ) Meek 56.5% to Greene 31.8%
Because Kendrick Meek is a strong supporter of Obama, and his rival and loser Jeff Greene is a critic of Obama and his stimulus plan and economic policies, he is also a super rich guy who at one time led in the polls after pouring millions of dollars from his personal fortune into the race.
On the other hand, Bill Clinton stumped strongly and enthusiastically for Kendrick Meek, so a losing Meek would have been unfortunate for the Democratic Party.
Florida is a Super Key State for Presidential Elections, it's a swing state, contested state, toss up state, vibrates between the two parties. Florida is necessary for Obama in 2012. ( Like Ohio and Pennsylvania ). The Electoral system of the USA is "funny" ( to say the least ), all the electoral votes of a state go usually to the candidate that won the majority in that state. That is hard to understand for foreigners. That is why a few states decide the election, those that are not strongly partisan : Republican Party or Democratic Party.
Pundits were doubting a victory of Black Congressman Kendrick Meek, and they said that Kendrick would have to perform miracles on Minorities ( Like Obama in the past presidential Race )

First came a harsh new immigration law and calls of white racism; then we turned up the heat with an “n-word” flap and the ground zero mosque hysteria. Kirsten Powers on a season of grievance jihads.

Leave it to GOP darling Sarah Palin to turn up the heat with a bizarre defense of the hateful Dr. Laura’s “n-word” rant.
What would make a police officer suspicious that a person was undocumented? If you guessed “brown skin” or “Mexican accent,” you are on the right track.
In a rambling Facebook post, the former Alaska governor asked incredulously: “Does anyone seriously believe that Dr. Laura Schlessinger is a racist?”
Why, yes, Sarah. Yes, we do.
This incident is instructive, because it bears the hallmark of many GOP blunders in the area of race. Palin truly cannot understand why anyone would think that Dr. Laura is racist, or why Palin’s defense of her is disgusting. In Palin’s world, apparently this kind of behavior is acceptable, which tells us quite a bit, actually.

It is worth noting that you hardly ever hear Gingrich or any high-profile Republican complaining about racism in America unless they are accusing a black or brown person of doing something racist to a white person.
They don’t get upset when talk-radio host Michael Savage, who reaches 8 million listeners a week, says things like this: “The scourge of illegal immigrants… are running rampant across America, killing our police for sport, raping, murdering like a scythe across America. The Statue of Liberty is crying, she’s been raped and disheveled. Raped and disheveled by illegal aliens!”
It really makes you wonder where anyone got the idea that some of the supporters of Arizona’s illegal-immigration law were racist.
Conservatives argued vehemently that because the law stated that racial profiling was illegal, no racial profiling would result from a law that compelled police officers to check a person’s immigration status while enforcing other laws. What would make a police officer suspicious that a person was undocumented? If you guessed “brown skin” or “Mexican accent,” you are on the right track.
Speaking of brown skin, the summer of hate wouldn’t be complete without a little Muslim-bashing.
Unless you live under a rock, you know that Newt and Sarah have unleashed one of their grievance jihads against the builders of a Muslim community center in Lower Manhattan. Conservatives have accused the builders of being “radicals” who they say are free to build the “mosque,” which according to Dick Morris is a “terrorist command center,” anywhere but their desired location.

Learn how activists in Louisville, Kentucky successfully campaigned against segregated streetcars in this excerpt from the Teaching Tolerance curriculum kit "A Place at the Table."
In 1865, four million newly emancipated slaves quickly found that freedom did not mean equality. The Civil War was over, but Black men and women would still have to fight hundreds of battles to win the same political, economic and social rights that White Americans enjoyed.
A great number of the battles for social equality would take place on segregated trains, steamships, streetcars and, later, buses.
For many African Americans, the daily public humiliation of having to ride in a designated section — or being refused a ride altogether — symbolized the entire system of racial separation, a system that reminded Blacks that they were second-class citizens in their own country.
One of the earliest assaults on segregated transit in the South occurred in Louisville, KY., in 1870-71. There, the city's Black community organized a successful protest that relied on non-violent direct action, a tactic that would give shape to the modern Civil Rights Movement nearly a century later.
On October 30, 1870, three men outside the Quinn Chapel in Louisville, Ky., made their way toward the trolley stand at Tenth and Walnut on the Central Passenger line. When the trolley stopped, each climbed aboard the near-empty car, dropped a coin in the fare box and took a seat.
It would have been a routine occurrence — three men catching a ride home after church on a Sunday afternoon — had the passengers been White residents of Louisville. But they were African American. And for Black city dwellers, riding a trolley was no ordinary act. It was a challenge to the entire social order.
As soon as the men entered the trolley car, a White passenger named John Russell told them to get off. The driver, too, demanded that they leave.
Robert Fox, an elderly mortician, quietly replied that he and his companions — his brother Samuel, who was also his business partner, and Horace Pearce, who worked for both brothers — had the same right to ride as Whites.
In fact, the trio's actions that day had been pre-arranged by Louisville's Black community to test the legality of the streetcar companies' segregation policies.

They agreed to give in to the protesters' demands. After a long struggle, Louisville's African American citizens had finally attained "simple justice": the right to ride the city's streetcars without restriction.
Louisville's African American community was jubilant. But in the decades to come, there would be many more battles to fight, in Kentucky and throughout the South.

The common denominator is attaching moral or political meaning to that existential question, To buy or not to buy? To participate or not to participate? Judging success is tricky and subject to spin.
"How are you defining success?" asks Lawrence Glickman, history professor at the University of South Carolina and author of last year's "Buying Power: A History of Consumer Activism in America." "Most boycotts in American history have not succeeded in their putative goals, but many have had an afterlife that often is surprisingly effective."
The anti-segregation streetcar boycotts of the early 1900s did not end segregation, but they were a foundation for later work, including the Montgomery Bus Boycott of 1955-56, which met its goals in spectacular fashion, Glickman says.
The grape boycott that César Chávez launched in the mid-1960s succeeded on multiple levels. After five years, the growers agreed to an unprecedented union contract for farmworkers. The boycott was so widely familiar that it became a Woody Allen punch line: In "Sleeper" (1973), Allen's character is asked if he has ever taken a serious political stand: "Yeah, sure," he answers. "For 24 hours once, I refused to eat grapes."

It’s not just the $20 million he’s spent already this election or the scorched earth campaign that he’s run. Rather, it’s the choices he’s made and the positions he’s embraced—and what it reveals about him—that could make for a complicated final chapter in his political biography.
Once the sponsor of comprehensive immigration reform with the late Sen. Ted Kennedy—a stance that hurt him with conservatives—McCain moved in a different direction this year. He switched his emphasis this summer to border security, embraced the Arizona’s controversial hardline immigration law and, in an ad, called on the federal government to “complete the danged fence”—three years after dismissing the notion of a border fence in a Vanity Fair article headlined, “Prisoner of Conscience.”
Four years ago, McCain also told students he supported repeal of the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy that bans gays from serving openly in the military. But in May, the former war hero and Navy POW promised to filibuster any bill including that change that landed on the Senate floor.
He sidestepped the climate change debate this year despite once being a Senate leader on the issue and he’s even distanced himself from the term that once seemed central to his political brand—his “maverick” trademark.
Hayworth, the primary election opponent McCain has spent a small fortune pummeling as inept, corrupt and even stupid, has seized on the apparent contradictions.
“Mr. campaign finance reform . . . the guy who used to lecture us about the evils of money . . . thinks he’s going to buy off Arizona,” Hayworth told POLITICO. “Maybe it’ll work. Hey, they spent $20 million.”

Arizona is a State that depends on Earnings from Toursim and Hotels .... Phoenix is the fifth-largest city in the nation. Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon is opposed to SB1070 because he understands the unwelcoming and racist nature of this state law.
Arizona is feeling the economic sting of losing conventions and visitors opposed to the controversial legislation. The horrible assesment of losses won't be complete until year 2011, when we can see how much has been lost in summer, fall and winter, for now there is a big CONSPIRACY OF SILENCE to hide the truth and deceive more fools.

Home prices in metro Phoenix are falling again, and new data about upcoming sales suggest that they are likely to keep falling over the next few months, bringing concerns of a housing-market "double dip" closer to reality.
Home prices had fallen to a median $119,900 back in April 2009, marking the low point of the region's housing crash. Recent months showed small but steady increases, keeping the price above $130,000.
But in July, the median sales price of a metropolitan Phoenix house fell more than 2 percent, according to the real-estate research firm Information Market. It was the first time the area's median has fallen below $130,000 this year, and the second month in a row that home prices fell.
Pending home-sales data provided to The Arizona Republic show the downward trend continuing.
Thousands of Phoenix-area homes are in escrow. If those deals close at the sales prices listed in their contracts, the region's overall home-sales price will tumble nearly as far as April 2009's low point.
If home prices drop below that mark, most analysts will consider it a double dip. With prices below their previous low point, a housing recovery will be even further away.
July is traditionally a slow month for the Phoenix-area housing market. But there is little data to contradict what pending home sales indicate about where prices are headed.
Instead, several other factors also point to a continuing decline.
The region's recession-battered job market is still weak, meaning few new buyers.
The number of foreclosed homes, which often end up being resold at bargain prices, continues to rise.
And most people who were considering buying anytime soon have likely already bought, getting in on a federal tax credit for homebuyers before it expired in June.
Also concerning to some in the industry is Arizona's crackdown on illegal immigration, which has spurred some people to leave the state.
New residents, who help fuel home buying in metro Phoenix, are no longer moving to the area like they were before the real-estate crash and recession.
"The market is much weaker now than it was a few months ago, with demand down severely almost everywhere," said Mike Orr, who publishes a daily online analysis of Phoenix-area housing called The Cromford Report. "I am currently expecting the average square-foot sales price to fall about 1 percent a month during the next two months. It's anybody's guess after that. It could get quite ugly."
He tracks average square-foot prices because they are less skewed by a few high or low prices. The current average is $87 a square foot, down from $91 a month ago.

SACRAMENTO, CA - The nation has lost a great leader in the passing of Dr. Mario G. Obledo, who died yesterday afternoon in Sacramento, California, with his wife, Keda Alcala-Obledo, by his side.
Respectfully known as the "Godfather of the Latino Movement", Dr. Mario G. Obledo, founder and President of the National Coalition of Hispanic Organizations, was a leader in Hispanic affairs for more than fifty years. Dr. Obledo applied science, law, business, and public service to advance the broad cause of civil rights and humanitarian causes, specifically concerns of Hispanics in our Nation. His accomplishments in law, advocacy and civil rights were recognized in 1998 when he received the Presidential Medal of Freedom Award, this country's highest civilian award, from then – President William J. Clinton. Dr. Obledo's leadership was recognized throughout the world. As co-founder of the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF) and the Hispanic National Bar Association, he was responsible in gaining national attention to civil rights issues affecting the Hispanic and other communities. He held local, district, state and national offices in the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC).
Dr. Obledo served on the board of the Martin Luther King, Jr., Federal Holiday Commission, and several legal and pharmaceutical organizations, and was a faculty member of the Harvard School of Law. As California Secretary of Health and Welfare, Dr. Obledo was instrumental in bringing thousands of Hispanics into state government, and declaring it "my greatest accomplishment in life." With quiet dignity and uncommon wisdom, Dr. Obledo opened the doors of employment, freedom, challenge, and opportunity for all Americans and at each point Dr. Obledo worked toward a stronger and more perfect union. As National President of LULAC, he extended the influence of the organization into the international arena. As past Chairman of the National Rainbow Coalition, he sought to unify the various ethnic, racial and religious groups into a progressive political force in order to change the character and condition of America.
Dr. Obledo is the recipient of the OHTLI award, the highest award bestowed by Mexico on a foreigner. He held a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from the University of Texas at Austin, and a Doctorate of Law degree (J.D.) from St. Mary's University in San Antonio. Dr. Obledo received the honorary degree of Doctor of Laws from the California State University, Sacramento in May 2010.

Topeka — City officials in Fremont, Neb., have said a property tax increase will be needed to cover the cost of defending its immigration ordinance, which was written by and will be defended by Kris Kobach, the Republican candidate for secretary of state in Kansas.
Kobach is also an attorney who has helped write laws and ordinances in several states and cities, including Fremont, aimed at stopping illegal immigration.
In preparation for the city’s fiscal year, which starts Oct. 1, Fremont’s city administrator recommended budgeting $750,000 for defense of the ordinance. This estimate was developed with input from Kobach, the city said in a news release.
The release states, “The city has re-searched the experiences of other communities defending similar ordinances including Farmers Branch, Texas and Hazleton, Pennsylvania. While Kris Kobach, the attorney representing the City of Fremont, has agreed to represent the city at reduced cost, the city anticipates other substantial costs relating to the lawsuit(s). Excluding plaintiff’s fees, costs have averaged around $800,000 per year in Farmers Branch, and $1,250,000 per year in Hazleton.
“Both cities use Kris Kobach as their attorney, also at reduced costs.”
To come up with the money, the city says it will need to increase the overall property tax rate by about 5.8 mills. That would mean an average tax increase of $116 per year on a $200,000 home. Fremont has about 25,000 people and is about 30 miles northwest of Omaha.
Fremont’s ordinance would require renters to obtain an occupancy license and businesses use the federal E-Verify system. The measure was approved by city voters but is currently held up by two lawsuits in federal court.
The city’s news release also states, “Additional costs the City is planning for include fees to Kris Kobach including travel, lodging, and outside assistance as needed; depositions, document redaction, expert witnesses, and discovery costs; ancillary lawsuits and potential plaintiffs’ fees; and technology, personnel, and other related costs.”
Kobach has been under fire from some of his critics who have said he will spend too much time on litigation in these immigration appeals to be a full-time secretary of state. But Kobach has said he will work on these matters on his own time.

But if ever there were a case for maintaining American exceptionalism, the 14th Amendment is it. Rejection of universal birthright citizenship would upend practices vital to the success of the American venture.
The proposed amendment's implicit premise, that children of parents who have broken the law do not deserve U.S. citizenship, contradicts a basic American value: the sins of the parents should not be visited upon the children.
Justice Robert Jackson put it succinctly in dissent from the Korematsu decision (1944), which found Japanese internment policies during World War II constitutional: "If any fundamental assumption underlies our system, it is that guilt is personal and not inheritable."
Justice Harry Blackmun reasoned similarly in Plyler v. Doe (1982) when striking down a Texas law that would have denied unauthorized children access to public schools. Frustration with illegal immigration, he wrote, ought not lead to unequal treatment of children who had no hand in creating their "illegality."

The clause thus operates as a constitutional reset button. Each generation born in the U.S. stands on its own, with equal citizenship status, regardless of parentage. Given our history as a society of immigrants, this rule has been crucial to our development into a cohesive political community and to our ability to integrate each new immigrant cohort.
It ensures that those who are born and raised in the United States have an equal opportunity to participate and contribute and are regarded by others as full Americans.

Latin America ( with Mexico included ) buys more from the United States than the European Community with such powerhouses like Germany or England, and including those new additions of East Europe like Poland, Hungary, etc ...

Yet many of these copycat proposals have already failed. The legislatures of Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Kansas rejected broad anti-immigrant bills or amendments. In Arkansas and Nevada, proponents of anti-immigrant ballot measures couldn’t secure enough signatures to get their proposals on the ballot this fall. Meanwhile, conservative governors in several states, including Florida, Texas, and California, have all made it clear they would veto broad anti-immigrant legislation, and business leaders and law enforcement groups have spoken out against adopting the Arizona approach in their states.
Why is the anti-immigrant movement failing so overwhelmingly? Contrary to the current media narrative, the anti-immigrant sentiments reflected in bills such as Arizona's are only held by a select few. Polls consistently show that voters want action on immigration, but that they favor comprehensive immigration reform over enforcement-only laws. A full 84 percent of voters who supported the Arizona law in a June 2010 national poll also supported comprehensive immigration reform. State legislators and elected officials are listening to this voter sentiment rather than allowing the voices of a few anti-immigrant political opportunists to shape the debate.
They also know these are simply bad public policy proposals that promise to decimate state economies and communities. Arizona’s economy has certainly suffered: It has one of the nation’s highest foreclosure rates, high budget deficits, and Latino business owners and consumers are leaving the state in droves.

Rather than pursuing draconian policies that seek to exclude immigrants and fragment society, legislators are in fact championing policies that foster integration and a sense of community. They are ending the five-year waiting period for immigrant children and pregnant immigrant women to access state Medicaid and State Child Health Plus programs. They are extending in-state tuition rates at state universities to undocumented students—a policy currently in place in ten states. They are tightening enforcement of wage and hour protections, which apply to all workers regardless of their immigration status but are often exploited by unscrupulous employers who force undocumented workers to accept unsafe working conditions and unfair wage levels. And they are welcoming immigrant-owned small-business ventures—and their infusion of economic growth—into their communities as much as possible.
In fact, most of the nation’s police chiefs are rejecting Arizona’s ineffective approach to immigration enforcement and instead supporting measures like community policing legislation, which allow law enforcement professionals to build trust with residents to help solve crimes. Such bills allow state and local law enforcement to focus on the safety of their communities, leaving federal immigration agents, who are expressly trained to do so, to focus on immigration enforcement.
